PORTFOLIO INTRODUCTION

I began work on a new portfolio section of the site. The first part discusses ideas to think about when beginning a portfolio as well as the settings I used when setting up my portfolio Photoshop pages. I see this as an evolving document that will be adjusted as time progresses. GO TO PAGE

Hi Alex,

Just been looking at your website....your stuff in INCREDIBLE!!! I'm so inspired. I have 10 weeks left of my third year at Manchester School of Architecture and DESPERATELY want to make some beautiful visuals of my final scheme for my portfolio. I've been using cad for 6 years and photoshop sketchup etc but no experience at all in 3d software. I don't know if I have time to learn rhino or maya or anything...from your very experienced perspective would you be able to suggest a starting point? I was hovering on a first last semester and really want to ensure I can wow the examiners in may when I submit!

All I have at the moment is a sketchup model which I doubt is going to knock anyone's socks off.

Thanks for your time!

Emily

There are a lot of rendering programs that are very easy to pic up. I use kerkythea only because it is free. I have some basic tutorials on this site that could get you started with that program. A good base image is crucial. After that, there are a ton of techniques to make it your own. You only need to learn rhino if you plan on designing geometry heavy forms (lots of curves, blobs, etc). Good luck
