While architecture is my focus, art, and specifically drawing will always continue to influence me and my designs. I experimented with different medias, but found graphite as the most rewarding medium to use because of its ability to fluctuate from abstraction such as sketching to detailed such as portraits . People were always the most interesting and challenging content for me to draw, due to their need for exact proportioning and precise control of every line. Though most of my work today is digital, I still look to drawing for support in all aspects of architecture, whether it is design development or final presentation.

While traveling through Turkey in 2008, we were asked to keep a sketchbook. These are a few pages out of my book that exhibit a wide range of moments captured with graphite and colored pencil.
