PORTFOLIO CREATION PART 2: INITIAL SETUP
ALEX HOGREFE
Sunday, April 10, 2011 After preparing the study model for the portfolio page, this next video discusses the initial setup of the Photoshop document, as well as some basic techniques used to add illustrations. It is important to note that the image size and dpi used for this portfolio is based on personal preference. I provided this information as a reference. My hope is that others will use this information as a jumping off point to explore sizes that fit their style and expression.

u are the god of rendering, i am 3 year Architecture student, can i send my sketch up file and u get some renders for me please !!
I noticed that You added 0.25inch to the sides of the canvas. Isn't it 1/4" instead of 1/8" as your instruction mentioned? It confused me a bit.
@Samin,
I wanted to add 1/8" on all sides. So, by increase the canvas horizontal length by 1/4" from the center, it will stretch an1/8" on one side, and an 1/8" on the other side, equaling 1/4" total. The same goes for the vertical dimension.
I was trying to do my portfolio in Photoshop but every time I brought a clear photoshop document or jpg into my page it became blurry. I did a test print and all of my images were still blurry. How do you print out your portfolio from photoshop without this happening to any of the images. When I bring them into indesign they're crystal clear?
Thank you
@Kameron,
Im confused when you say that" I brought a clear Photoshop document or jpg into my page". Does this mean you are bringing the PSD files into Indesign? Either way, if your working in PSD, anything at 300 dpi should not print blurring. be sure the document is set up to the correct size and dpi before inserting images and renderings and you should be fine.
When it comes to print how do you send it to the printer? Because you've set it up as a double page then printing double sided is ok for one side but the other one won't match?
how do you create contour planes in sketch-up? I mean does the base plan come from autocad?
Thanks..
@bi
@bi,
